NiteSafe is a partnership between the police, local authorities, the town centre licensing trade, and representatives from the town centre night time economy.
It's aims are to reduce the amount of alcohol related violence and disorder in Scunthorpe town centre and to develop and promote the night time economy.
Pubs and clubs door staff have been issued with radios and have a direct link with the police and CCTV control centre ensuring a joined up response to incidents as they occur.
Additional police officers have been patrolling hot spots and early indications are showing a reduction in violent crime in the town centre.
NiteSafe also works closely with Scunthorpe Pub Watch and can issue banning orders to anyone who has been violent towards a member of staff.
