Grant details

  • From £50 upwards for children’s projects.
  • From £200 upwards for modest community initiatives.
  • Up to £5,000 for larger scale projects, which show how a Community Pot grant can make the difference e.g. providing the last chunk of funding or acting as a pivot to lever in significant levels of external funding. These grants will only be made for exceptional projects, which will have a major impact on their community.

The good news is that the panel normally meets once a month so you can submit your application at any time.

  • Grants will not be made retrospectively i.e. for expenditure already incurred.
  • The grants are “one-off’ payments and only one successful application per year is allowed.
  • For capital build projects, other than in exceptional circumstances, the maximum grant will be 40% of the project cost.
  • Grants will not normally be awarded for running costs.
  • Decisions on the awarding of grants will be made by a panel of representatives from the funders of the Community Pot and from voluntary and community groups.
  • Any grants must be spent within six months of being awarded unless the Grant Panel has agreed otherwise.

The application process is very easy and straightforward.

If you would like to apply for a Community Pot grant please read on for Application procedures.

It’s as simple as this to apply

Representatives from the group will need to consult with the Community Pot Co-ordinator who will complete a simple assessment of the group and its project. If there are areas where there is a lack e.g. of procedures, advice/training will be given to remedy this.

Once the group questionnaire has been satisfactorily completed there will be a straightforward application form to fill in. The Community Pot Co-ordinator will be available to advise on this.

The form will then be submitted to the Grant Panel for its decision.

Successful applicants will be asked to sign an agreement to undertake simple monitoring tasks. These will be agreed between the Community Pot Co-ordinator and the group. It is expected that the group will continue to work with the Community Pot Co-ordinator during the agreed period of monitoring.
